Creating SAP data records from Excel

Data-intensive Excel templates for high-value SAP transactions

The Bill of Material creation Excel template shown in the following figure enables users to load data to the CS01 transaction. Note that a single material, on the header level, may consist of multiple component materials listed below it at the detail level. The success and error messages received when a user loads this data into the CS01 transaction are logged in one of the columns of the spreadsheet.

The Journal Entry creation Excel template shown in the following figure enables users to load data to the FB50 transaction. The top section of the sheet shows the header fields, and the lower section contains line items. Buttons, linked to Excel macros, are set up to enable users to validate data or to post the data to SAP. After the user posts the data, the header section shows the document number.
