As we build our the next generation Winshuttle.com site – it’s coming along nicely, thanks – we’ve been revisiting some old research we did around SAP-centric keywords and what terms people are searching on in the SAP ecosystem.
SAP training and SAP jobs are two of the most common searches with hundreds of thousands of searches a month, which is not surprising, but from our perspective we don’t want to rank highly for those. The next level down are the modules (SAP MM, SAP HR, SAP FICO, SAP SD, etc. etc.), and these are trickier. They are clearly generic searches, but because Winshuttle offers solutions in these modules, we will offer pages for these. These terms range in the 50,000 ?? 100,000 searches per month.
As we look at terms we think are in Winshuttle’s sweet spot – SAP Excel, SAP Upload, SAP Download, SAP Data Entry, SAP Forms, LSMW, etc – you get a very large range. 27,000 searches a month for LSMW vs 1,300 for SAP Data Entry. Of course a website needs to consider more than simple organic search terms, so we put content on the site that we hope will be useful to our prospects and customers. It’s been an interesting exercise and I have noticed two things since the last time I did this.
Firstly, not much has changed. The top terms now, were the same two and half years ago. Secondly, the volume of searches has increased, which tells me the “SAP people” are still looking for solutions to their challenges.
