Winshuttle Customers Share Their Secrets for Success

After a successful day one, the second day on the Master Data track at EMEA WUG also brought to light additional powerful success stories from our customers. Here are a few highlights of those presentations.
Winshuttle deployed globally
An international engineering company that makes elevators and escalators presented about their best practices for deploying Winshuttle’s desktop tools globally. Their goal was to strike a balance between providing enough flexibility to the business while maintaining a certain level central governance to ease long-term manageability. They achieved this with multiple instances of Winshuttle Central, each with local champions as administrators. With Central, users are able to create custom scripts to load or extract SAP data. The company’s IT department controls the use of those scripts and manages them in a centralized manner. This model has really helped to standardize their processes globally.
Another great piece of advice that resonated well with the audience was the idea of creating scripts that can be used for multiple purposes rather than creating separate scripts for every little problem. One way to create more versatile scripts is by following the newly published design pattern on Bulk Material Management.
A global producer of medical equipment provided an overview of their Winshuttle Foundation deployment for automating Master Data processes. In the six months they have been running Foundation, over 4,000 forms have been processed and 80,000 tasks completed. They’re expecting a fivefold increase of throughput once the global roll-out is complete. During the implementation they also completed all of the documentation required in a validated environment.
This company completed the entire implementation themselves, and here are the key lessons they learned on the project:
