Director, Product Management – Platform

Reports to: VP, Product Management

Position summary

The Director Product Management–Platform will set and execute the application data management (workflow, governance, data quality) platform strategy working closely with solution product managers, architects, customers and partners. He / she will research and identify market needs, trends and ecosystem requirements to craft a roadmap and lead a direct and cross-functional team to develop and launch new platform functionality and interoperability within the market window.  Crucial to the role is a deep working knowledge of Agile development methodology and successful experience developing enterprise software with offshore teams.

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Assure new platform initiatives offer clear competitive advantage for current and future businesses.
  • Strategically analyze and successfully manage the inevitable conflict of competing demands on the platform.
  • Gain credibility with the field, partners and customers to engage audiences at different levels.
  • Conduct research and use cases analysis on new product opportunities.
  • Define and lead a direct and cross-functional team to execute the roadmap within market windows.
  • Externally focused to ensure the platform is architected in a manner to respond to solution, customer and ecosystem partner changes.
  • Identify technology gaps and make build/buy/partner decisions to fill those gaps.

  • Ability to propose a vision and innovation in the market based on enterprise software technology, customer demand and market windows to progress ideas into new product concepts.

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Computer Science focus preferred.
  • At least 15 years’ experience in a directly related industry with at least 5 years in a product management leadership position.
  • Proven experience in identifying market and technology inflection points and defining and developing robust platforms to meet those market requirements with partner entities.
  • At least 5 years experience developing products in an Agile environment.
