Top 5 Items to Keep in Mind for SAPPHIRE NOW + ASUG Conference 2014
By Clinton Jones on May 29, 2014
SAP and ASUG’s showcase event of the calendar, SAPPHIRE NOW + ASUG Conference 2014, is just around the corner–and if you’re planning to attend, here are the 5 most important things you should keep in mind.
The conference will be held from June 3-5, 2014. Sessions begin on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, through Thursday, June 5, 2014, with preconference seminars on Monday, June 2, 2014.
The SAPPHIRE NOW 2014 conference itself is to be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. You can pick up your conference registration ID badge from the airport on either Sunday or Monday on the Baggage Claim Level (Level 2) on both the east and west ends of the airport, at the Hilton, or at the conference center.
SAPPHIRE NOW has a jam packed calendar of sessions from SAP, SAP partners and ASUG members. Your conference registration includes access to all business presentations, show floor exhibits and product demonstrations.
Breakfast is not provided; however, light morning snacks such as muffins and pastries will be available along with the all essential hot drinks, such as coffee and tea. Lunch is provided daily, and there are evening events, such as cocktail hours and ASUG Panel Discussions. The finale event on Wednesday night will feature Bon Jovi and The Kings of Suburbia at the Amway Center.
You can find additional details on the conference agenda on the SapphireNow website.
The opening Keynote will be delivered by Bill McDermott, Co-CEO, SAP. McDermott will be followed by the ASUG Keynote, Captain Chesley B. (Sully) Sullenberger, the pilot who is best known for the “Miracle on the Hudson.” On January 15, 2009 he and his crew safely guided US Airways Flight 1549 to an emergency water landing in New York City’s Hudson River. The Airbus he was piloting had lost thrust in its engines following a bird strike.
On the Wednesday the SAP Keynote will be given by Prof. Dr. h.c. Hasso Plattner, Chairman of the SAP Supervisory Board. And for those who have a fondness for Saturday Night Live, there will be a Special Keynote with Saturday Night Live alumni comprising Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller and Kevin Nealon on the Thursday.
It’s easy to dismiss SAPPHIRE NOW as a glorified SAP selling event and of course SAP is in it to sell more software. However, SAPPHIRE NOW can be so much more if you take a harder look at the content that is available.
Whether you are new to the world of SAP or you have been running SAP or some time, this is an important opportunity to learn about the use possibilities. You’ll learn about new products, new use cases and what partners like Winshuttle are doing in the SAP world.
It is a great opportunity to network and hear how SAP customers are using SAP technology to run their businesses. You’ll meet some of the brightest minds in the world of SAP, and you’ll hear about SAPs future plans for its product portfolio.
All the important vendors in the SAP ecosystem will exhibit at SAPPHIRE NOW, including Winshuttle. We’ll have a significant presence, just as in past years, showcasing the latest and greatest Winshuttle offerings as well as presenting some of the upcoming products that will be available during the summer and fall of 2014.
We like to bring a special new set of features or products to Sapphire Now to make sure our SAP customers are aware of all the ways they can make the best of their SAP investment through the process- and user experience-enhancing functionality of Winshuttle.
I look forward to meeting you at SAPPHIRE NOW and hope you will stop by the Winshuttle booth: 239
