6 Tips to Get the Most Out of SAPPHIRE NOW 2016

By Kristen Mery on May 12, 2016

We’re just one week away from the annual SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference – If you haven’t already, now is the time to start planning out your conference agenda.

This will be my 8th SAPPHIRE, so I thought I’d share some tips to help you make sure you’re getting the most out of your valuable time spent away from the office:

Tip 1: Plan your agenda

SAPPHIRE NOW is HUGE! There’s so much going on at all times, make sure to look through the sessions catalog to find the right topics for you. Here are a few sessions we recommend:

Affordable Master Data Management for Small-to-Medium Enterprises

Tuesday | 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. | S321

Dorman Products recognized the importance of data management as part of their SAP strategy. With thousands of unique material numbers to manage, Dorman realized manually processing records in SAP software would be inefficient and inaccurate, and they needed a tool to manage their data that was affordable, quick, powerful, flexible, and easy to implement and use.

Implementing Master Data Governance for Long-Term Success at Woodgrain

Tuesday | 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. | S330H

Learn how Woodgrain Millwork successfully implemented a centralized master data governance organization, processes, and technology to ensure accurate and efficient master data conversions in support of SAP software implementation phases, and ensure long-term master data quality. Understand the steps taken from vision to successful implementation.

The Emerging Role of the Data Steward

Wednesday | 3:30 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. | Partner and SME Solutions | Topic Area PS601

Are you responsible for maintaining data in SAP? Called upon when processes are interrupted? Constantly fighting fires? If so, you are likely a data steward, a role that is becoming critical in today’s data-driven economy. Join us to learn about tools that can empower you to get your work done faster, and improve your company’s performance.

Tip 2: Network An illustration of different types of people connected in different ways. This works great for social networking or word of mouth referral marketing concepts.

This is the largest gathering of SAP users in the world, giving you the chance to connect with people like you who use SAP software every day. Learn how to enable your digital business strategy and get more from your technology investment – and don’t forget to bring your business cards!

Tip 3: Wear Comfortable Shoes

The average SAPPHIRE attendee walks 70 miles during the conference! I hope you’ve been training – Winshuttle will be giving away FitBits every hour on the hour, so stop by for your chance to win, and start tracking your mileage for the week.

Tip 5: Discover new solutions

Did you know the SAPPHIRE NOW show floor covers nearly 16 football fields! There are a lot of solutions just waiting to be discovered in all those yards. Make sure to visit the exhibitors, to explore all ways you can make your SAP life easier.

We especially hope you’ll visit us at Winshuttle’s booth (#820) to see how you can:

  • Upload/Download SAP to Excel faster and easier than ever
  • Automate customer, material and vendor master data
  • Accelerate your FICO operations with Excel

Tip 6: Have Fun!!!

After spending hours and hours learning and networking, it’s important to take a break and have some fun! SAP always puts on an awesome show – this year they’re bringing in Coldplay!

We’d also like to invite you to join us for happy hour on Tuesday evening at SAPPHIRE on the Rocks. After the first day of the conference, walk on over to The Rocks at the Hyatt Regency to join us for some cocktails – Will I see you there?
