Cloud Support Engineer

Reports to: Director, Software Engineering

Position summary

Winshuttle is looking for a Cloud Support Engineer to provide Tier-2 support for incoming production tickets.  Responsibilities include troubleshooting production issues that arise within our cloud based multi-tenant applications operating in a 24 x 7 high availability environment, fixing production code to resolve support issues and collaborating with the engineering teams to improve instrumentation, monitoring and alerting in production environments.  As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will build new tools and dashboards to monitor and improve the operational excellence of Winshuttle’s cloud based products.  You will work closely with DevOps to support software deployment in staging and production environments, as well as, report on system and support status.  This position will create and own the engineering policies to drive improved scalability, availability and reliability.  You will be part of the Engineering team working with customers, customer service and DevOps engineers to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.  Customer first focus is a must have!

Essential functions and responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with Software Engineering and DevOps to define and implement cloud based monitoring solutions that proactively enhance and automate issue identification and resolution.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting around performance and reliability issues for online services.
  • Define and create engineering policies to ensure operational excellence standards are applied consistently across all application code.
  • Build the tools and dashboards required to ensure all Winshuttle’s cloud based products are online and in a healthy state 24 x7.

Knowledge

 

  • BA/BS degree in computer science or related field
  • 5+ years of C# programming experience
  • Experience with Micro Service development in a multi-tenant environment
  • Experience with .Net Core and Application Insights
  • 3+ years’ experience with NoSql Databases such as Cosmos, Mongo, etc.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript technologies, React preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Technologies

Experience

 

  • Ability to create complex programs and applications with C#.
  • Experience with VSTS or TFS frameworks and ability to work within a fully engaged Agile/Sprint SDLC.
  • Familiarity with Operational Excellence best practices.
  • Knowledge of monitoring solutions such as Application Insights.
  • Deep understanding of cloud services (preferably Azure) and multi-tenant SaaS platform design.
  • Experience working with DevOps teams and knowledge of containerized CI/CD environments.
