Reports to: Corporate Controller

Position summary

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, The Consultant is a trusted strategic thought-partner. This role is the regional extension of the Controller, requiring strong leadership and interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and professionalism. This role is expected to lead local financial reporting and to meet company initiatives, develop processes and procedures and drive expense and headcount efficiency enhancements. In charge of the company’s financial activities, s/he provides the leadership and direction to ensure the local statutory and tax compliance.


This hands-on and participative management role is responsible for leading, managing and developing a regional team of professionals to support the following areas: finance and analysis, tax and statutory compliance, and payroll.


This highly visible role interfaces with key members of the global leadership team and is expected to act as the financial business partner; surfacing and presenting key business insights and recommendations to support optimal business decisions.

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of regional accounting professionals to meet local and GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Perform technical accounting research as needed and make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures.
  • Act as primary business partner between Finance and other departments. Lead monthly regional close process, Manage the A/P, G/L, and Payroll functions
  • Manage month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Manage and coordinate the annual audit and local tax requirements, including preparation of audit schedules as required by outside auditors.
  • Reviews reconciliations and working papers supporting general ledger balances. Provides information and assistance to financial reporting team and outside auditors
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional teams, and make decisions regarding projects and programs affecting operational effectiveness, policies, or processes.
  • Engage in continuous critical analysis of existing systems and processes, and partner with the accounting team to make recommendations to achieve greater efficiencies and improve internal controls.
  • Assist with related special projects and other duties as needed or other ad-hoc projects as assigned by Corporate Controller


  • Strong knowledge of GAAP required
  • Strong knowledge of local statutory rules and regulations
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment
  • High Technology/Enterprise Software/SaaS Industry Experience Preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience with MS Office (advanced Excel skills required), and SAP

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • CPA/CA Certification or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in general accounting experience
  • 5+ years of Supervisory Experience
  • Minimum 4 Years Public Accounting Experience, Big 4 Experience Preferred
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize and balance workload to meet deadlines
  • Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion
  • Attention to detail, multi-tasking and strong follow through required
  • Understanding and experience with centralized and de-centralized structures as business requirements change
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced matrixed environment
  • Clear and strategic thinker; proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans
