DevOps Engineer


Reports to: Director, Information Security & Operations

Position summary

The Development Operations Engineer will deploy, support, and manage our Public cloud platform, while improving and automating the operational processes that insure sustainability and stability of all our online applications. You will create and automate release, change, deployment, and incident processes that will enable your team to manage and sustain the production environments.  As part of the DevOps team, you will work with test, systems, and software engineers to troubleshoot and resolve incidents that arise with the online application in a 24 x 7 environment.  You will utilize trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvements within existing frameworks, tools, and processes to continuously enhance operational supportability.  Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately, and securely.

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and maintain container orchestration technologies such as Docker Swarm and Kubernetes
  • Coordinate maintenance of public facing products and internal technical resources
  • Drive continuous improvements to incident management processes, including automation of appropriate escalations to Engineering, DevOps, and Support teams.
  • Automate repetitive, operation through PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code, or ADO with CI/CD pipelines
  • Continuously research and look to improve process, procedures, and SOPs
  • Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
  • Partner with the Engineering and Operations teams to automate & optimize service availability, scalability, performance, monitoring & alerting.
  • Perform deep investigations that stretch your skills as you traverse rich telemetry streams to isolate and solve complex performance and reliability issues for cloud-based services
  • Build and document support matrix process by working closely with the global support team in order to triage incidents into a fully functional escalation path with incident response following the proper channel for final resolution

  • Certifications in AWS and Azure, preferred
  • Familiarity with ADO, Jira and Agile methodologies; includes epics, features, stories and daily standups with scrubbing
  • 5+ years’ experience with software and systems architecture
  • BE/MCA degree in computer science or other related fields


  • Strong experience managing and maintaining Windows Server
  • Demonstrated ability to write complex scripts with PowerShell
  • Have worked in an Enterprise class environment with On-Call duties in order to support a critical HA environment.
  • Experience with ADO or VSTS frameworks and working within a fully engaged Agile/Sprint practice
  • Monitor SaaS solutions and performance from APM through infrastructure and logs using Datadog or other Enterprise-Based monitoring solutions
  • Deep understanding of cloud services, multi-tenant SaaS platform design and supportability, and software security development integrated into the application build process.
