Position summary

This role contributes to Winshuttle’s success by managing our EMEA accounting teams to process and report official financial results leveraging the General Ledger for their assigned region. The Manager, Accounting is responsible for developing, directing, planning and evaluating the team that set’s the regional policies and procedures including distribution of financial statements and regulations in alignment with the Corporate practices. This position controls all assigned tasks necessary to accomplish the regions financial reporting objectives including leading the monthly close process.

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly General ledger close and reporting for EMEA regions to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations and reconciliations for all Winshuttle’s entities
  • Reviews reconciliations and working papers supporting general ledger balances. Provides information and assistance to financial reporting team and outside auditors
  • Collaborate with Global accounting teams and Winshuttle shared services to support reporting, automation, and process improvement across the worldwide organization
  • Manage and coordinate the annual audit, including preparation of audit schedules as required by outside auditors
  • Document, maintain and refine effective internal controls for audit compliance
  • Continuously evaluate processes and procedures for efficiencies and system improvements
  • Collaborate with revenue team to drive best practices
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy
  • Manage, develop, mentor, and regularly assess team of direct reports.
  • Define, lead, and drive financial initiatives in support of overall business goals, and process improvements
  • Other ad-hoc projects as assigned by Corporate Controller
  • Identifies and communicates potential risks and opportunities and emerging trends with department management. Develops responses and takes action as appropriate
  • Responds to questions about business transactions from business units or departments. Provides guidance on reporting and compliance
  • Participates in business re-engineering activities to support the establishment and integration of electronic information processes and principles at the company

  • Extensive working knowledge of UK GAAP; IFRS knowledge desired
  • Knowledge and experience of French and German accounting standard highly desirable
  • Knowledge of US GAAP desired
  • Ensures regional team adheres to legal and operational compliance requirements
  • Strong management experience with the ability to challenges and inspire direct reports to achieve business results, develops teams and builds bench strength in support of succession planning
  • Oversees training and development of team directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions

  • 5 years’ post qualified experience
  • 5 years’ experience managing an Accounting Department
  • Working knowledge of French and/or German accounting law strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and local statutory regulations desired
  • Use of the following systems: Great Plains, FRX, ADP, and Adaptive Insights desirable
