Position summary

The System Administrator will be responsible for supporting and administering corporate systems, applications and maintaining documentation of these systems. This also includes assisting in implementation and operation of technical projects involving the IT, DevOps and InfoSec teams

Essential functions and responsibilities

  • Track and monitor system vulnerabilities results and escalate issues as needed, coordinate with engineers to expedite resolutions.
  • Patch and provide system testing in all systems and environments.
  • Respond to team tickets as directed and as needed for all managed systems within Dev Ops Security and IT is including all environments: on-prem, Azure and AWS.
  • Manage corporate data backups, rotate backup media, create backup capacity and health reports.
  • Assist DevOps personnel with automation and documentation.
  • Provide support by troubleshooting hardware, OS, applications, peripherals, network, and connectivity problems. ​
  • Responsible for administering virtual infrastructure, including deploying new virtual machines and managing image library.
  • Monitor and optimize performance for enterprise applications deployed by Winshuttle.
  • Manage corporate data backups.
  • Create system health, compliance, configuration, and security reports to share with management.
  • Creativity and ability to perform job functions independently is required.
  • Must be able to recognize and support the rapidly changing business requirements for a rapidly growing company.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends based on system needs.

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.

Experience

  • Previous experience managing an Active Directory based Windows domain.
  • Experience managing systems: Windows Server and Client operating systems, SharePoint, Hyper-V, VMWare
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of Employees.
  • Ability to operate independently.
  • Experience with Backups, Hyper-V, Office 365, and Public Cloud is highly desirable.
  • Requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, strong multitasking ability, ability to work as part of a multi-faceted team and high level of professionalism.
