Winshuttle Receives Patent for Dynamic Web Services

Web services innovation takes user-enabled application development to new levels.

Bothell, WA – August 20, 2013 – Winshuttle today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office validated Winshuttle’s groundbreaking work with web services technology by awarding the company with U.S. Patent No. 8,516,554. This patent describes dynamic web services technology which can facilitate custom enterprise application development around ERP systems with little or no developer input by creating a web service for performing a particular ERP transaction.

“Web services are an important element of any efficient enterprise architecture. Dynamically generating web services representing ERP transactions is a market-leading capability that Winshuttle brings to its customers,” said Vikram Chalana, Winshuttle co-founder and CTO. “We empower everyday people to improve their businesses that are dependent on enterprise systems such as SAP and Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), and innovations like these are invaluable to our mission.”

Winshuttle enables business users to automate critical transactional processes by integrating Excel, SharePoint, web forms and other familiar interfaces with ERP systems. The technology covered by this patent is central to the Winshuttle Studio and Winshuttle Foundation product lines. These products help business and IT users create effective and usable solutions for SAP and SAP-centric business processes.

“Creativity and innovation are core values at Winshuttle and we make significant investments in building new products and technologies that make our customers’ lives easier,” continued Chalana.

Winshuttle was also recently awarded U.S. Patent No. 8,321,447 for Adaptive Query Throttling, a technology that prevents SAP users from over taxing server resources. The company has several other U.S. and global patents pending for a variety of ERP-centric technologies.
