In this post, learn about the logistics and benefits of upgrading to Winshuttle Studio v11, and how to work in parallel with 10x series.
Find out why upgrading to Studio v11 is great if you’re a DIRECT user, giving you the ability to delete any loops that are part of the original BAPI as well as create your own!
Anyone who has cut their teeth into working with Winshuttle and SAP has probably come to realize that Sales Order Creation transactions like VA21 and VA01 work differently from transactions like FB50, ME21 or ME51. In the sales order process, just as for procurement and some other areas of SAP, you have the ability to not only enter header data and order lines, but also schedule those lines for delivery to specific locations on specific dates. Depending on your SAP system configuration, however, you may run into pop-ups and other behaviors that make it difficult to build a robust Winshuttle… Read more
A customer recently had a mishap with material characteristics under MM02 and as many of you will know this is a nasty little set of views nested within one another under MM02 tab characteristics. It seems too, that there isn’t a nice clean way to extract and change this data. It is likely though, that some of you who have been winshuttling for a few years now, know how to do this using a variety of scripts and methods. There is another way now, using Winshuttle Direct with Winshuttle Transaction and this time using a Remote enabled Function Module (RFM)…. Read more
It has been a busy week and half on the content side here in product management at Winshuttle. Content development and review has reached a feverish pitch as we busy ourselves reviewing the use cases for our products and more particularly TRANSACTION, DIRECT and RUNNER. It is interesting to see just how pervasive the use of the products are with the various Winshuttle customers. The breadth is quite impressive I have to say and the flexibility of the products enables end-to-end automation of many different kinds of business processes that rely heavily on data inputs. Keep watching the Winshuttle blogs… Read more
One of the first things I did when I joined Winshuttle was to overhaul the website. Well it has now been over 2 years since we did that and a lot of water has passed under the bridge. Not only has Winshuttle more than doubled in customers, revenue, employees, and nearly every other category I can think of, but our product portfolio has dramatically expanded as well. This creates an interesting challenge as we develop our new marketing website. Our original application, TRANSACTION, is a tool that enables a range of problems to be tackled and solutions to be developed, so… Read more
In the last couple weeks, I have been at two very different events. The first was SAP TechEd 2010, this year in Las Vegas, NV. The second was the Winshuttle User Group (WUG), which I will cover in a separate post. This was Winshuttle’s first time exhibiting at TechEd in the US, so we really didn’t know what to expect. The TechEd event is really focused on the technical side of the SAP world, versus the more business focused side at Sapphire and the SAP Insider meetings. I actually explained TechEd to my wife and other non-SAP friends as Nerd-apalooza for the… Read more
Actually, now that I think about it, all those ‘uh’s should be aah!’s I just returned from the Winshuttle User Group (WUG) meeting in New Orleans. The gathering was a “Winshuttle product love-fest” as one colleague described it, but I like to think that I came away with some sense of purposeful idea generation on new features, improvements, and capabilities for future releases of the Winshuttle TRANSACTION and DIRECT products. The reason for the aah’s has to do with the discovery by many customers that there were a bunch of new capabilities implemented in products released in 2009/2010 that existing customers… Read more
We’re on a big countdown here in Winshuttle Product Management, together with our colleagues at Winshuttle Labs, for the General Availability release of STUDIO, CENTRAL and SERVER. This week, we received our first support request from the field for a BAPI and discovered some interesting ways customers are planning to use the new functionality afforded by Winshuttle DIRECT with TRANSACTION.
With just over four weeks until SAP TechEd in Las Vegas and Berlin and five weeks to the Winshuttle User Group gathering in New Orleans I am feverishly banging away at the computer keyboard building compelling demonstrations of Winshuttle DIRECT and TRANSACTION to wow customers and prospects alike. The first customer ship versions of Winshuttle STUDIO 10 and Winshuttle TRANSACTION 10 are out the door and I am waiting for feedback before the general availability at the end of September.
